At least I think it is called Code Academy. In any event, did anyone else receive that email from FIT regarding MSA offering CCNA certifications through a Cisco code academy which will be hosted on campus?
If I recall correctly it was going to be offered next year or something to that tune....
Do you think it is a good idea, or something doomed to fail?

Re: Cisco Code Academy at MSA
I decided to check through my emails quickly to dig it out.
Dear IT student
We are busy planning to introduce a Cisco Academy on our campus.
Please indicate your interest in registering for A+, CCNA1 and CCNA2 by completing the survey at:

Thank you

Most of us got the mail you stated above.
There is also a link to it on the Monash South Africa School of IT facebook page.
MSA wants to Start a Cisco Academy offering A+, CCNA and CCNP courses.
This has been in the making for about the last two years, ever since Dr Das told me personally that they were looking into buying the equipment and setting up a networking lab environment at Monash South Africa. It has taken time to set up because of various factors, 1 being that they had to get somebody and train them to deliver the course.
Personally I've been waiting for this, as its a great opportunity to have Cisco Course right on Campus for us to do.
There is still value to these certifications and it helps to broaden your networking knowledge and skills.
Lets hope they succeed in getting up and running this year.
I would recommend all MSA students to take the survey so we can get this opportunity up and running.
Hopefully its turns out to be a great success and not a failure.
