The Central Processing Unit can be considered to be one of the most important inventions of our time.
It normally sits within certain electronic devices like Computers, Laptops, Smartphones and Tables. They are at the heart of what drive today's modern world of computing.
CPU's come in all different shapes with various different models invented throughout humanities history.
The brain can even be considered to be the CPU of the human body. Its what processes inputs and produces outputs in the form of rules and algorithms.
In order to learn more about these incredible devices lets look into our own lives and see what CPU's we can find around us.
I challenge you to find the exact models used within the devices you interact with everyday and list them on the forum.
How much processing power and core count do you have in your life?
Lets find out.
As part of the challenge please use the following bold format to post the Central Processing Units you find in your devices* OR take a screenshot using the program CPU-Z by CPUID which can be downloaded here: http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html
Other CPU identification program screenshots are welcome as long as they can display the required information.
Mobile device CPU's specifications can be found using http://www.gsmarena.com/ or just googling 'What CPU does this device have?"
Then total up the amount of physical cores you have in your life.
Example
Device: Desktop Computer
Name: "Intel Core i7 6700k"
Manufacturer: "Intel"
Physical Core Count: "4"
Frequency: "4.0GHz"
OR a Screenshot of CPU-Z or any other CPU identification program.
Example
Device: Desktop Computer
Total Physical Core Count: "4"
*Devices include: Personal Computer, Laptop, Tablet, Smartphone and Gaming Consoles.
**APU's may be considered part of this discussion as they contain CPU's.
